Garry Monk spoke to the press earlier today as Sheffield Wednesday gear up for their game with Hull City in the Sky Bet Championship at Hillsborough.
The Owls kick off their new year at home and fans will hope that they can also start proceedings in January with a win as they go in hunt of a top-six place by the end of the campaign.
Things perhaps could have been better in recent weeks had they not stuttered at times but they are where they are and they now need to just try and kick on after a loss to Cardiff at the weekend.
Steven Fletcher was missing from that one but Monk is clearly hopeful that he’ll be back in contention for the game against the Tigers after an illness has cleared up:
💬 GM: Steven Fletcher has been back in training this week, will train again today and there has been no reaction so far and if that remains, he’ll be available for selection #swfcLIVE

This has sparked a fair bit of reaction on Twitter, too, so let’s take a look at the best of what has been said on social media:

that means he’ll get some reaction and be unavailable

Same spiel, not to alert Hull of game plan. No doubt FF is in the frame & Messi when we sign him at 9am.
