This is because they have just discovered a stunning twist in the saga over Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira as the Daily Star reveal that Trabzonspor are now favourites to sign him.
Sources suggest that the Turkish Super Lig side are lining up an extraordinary contract for the German international in the hope that they can sign him on a free when his contract expires at the Bernabeu at the end of the season.
Despite returning from his long-term injury, he is still struggling to break into Carlo Ancelotti’s first team with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos currently favoured over him.
Although there are countless rumours suggesting that his future lies elsewhere, Khedira is willing to extend his stay in Madrid.
He said last month: “I’d be happy if we found a solution to the contract situation.
“I’m in good shape again and so I’m very confident that I’m going to get my chances to play very soon.
