Liverpool fans are feeling very indifferent in the Transfer Tavern at present.

Though they cannot fault the entertainment their side has produced, they cannot help but feel that more could have been achieved in a season that promised so much in the first half.

Our landlord fully agrees and points towards the lack of depth currently possessed by boss, Jurgen Klopp, within his Liverpool squad, which has caused him to start studying the younger talent currently at the Reds to see if any are ready to make the step up to first team level.

It is a discussion that has simply captivated the Liverpool punters in the Tavern who can boast about a lot of talent that has graced the pitch of their beloved Anfield and they just cannot wait to see which graduate makes the grade in the first team next.

Though there have been many names mentioned within the Transfer Tavern, our landlord is always one step a head when it comes to knowledge of young players and he has been casting his eye over the prospects that may well find themselves in Jurgen Klopp’s side sooner rather than later.

Here are his findings…

Ben Woodburn

Woodburn has seen his reputation go from strength to strength following his goal in the EFL Cup against Leeds United earlier in the season, especially at international level.

English and Welsh punters in the Tavern have been arguing over whether the young 17-year-old should chose to represent either of their nations but it seems Wales have prevailed. He’s been included in the most recent Wales squad, putting an end to England’s hopes of convincing the player to represent them.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Though initially a centre-midfielder, many of the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have only seen Alexander-Arnold when he started against Manchester United in the Premier League earlier in the season.

Alexander-Arnold did not look out of place that day and our landlord is expecting big things from the 18-year-old who has captained the Reds at U16 and U18 level.

Sheyi Ojo

A player that Jurgen Klopp seemingly rates, there is no doubt that 19 year old, Ojo, has enough talent to feature in Liverpool’s first team.

Klopp has outlined the player’s lack of directness to be Ojo’s stumbling block and our landlord is convinced that if he brings that to his play, he will be vital for Liverpool in the future.

Joe Gomez

Seemingly the forgotten man at Anfield, there is no doubt that Joe Gomez possesses the talent to earn the big bucks.

Our Liverpool punters have been disappointed that injury has seen Gomez miss so much football since he joined from Charlton Athletic in 2015 but, following his come back game against Plymouth in the FA Cup, our landlord feels we will see a lot more from Gomez in the future.
