Celtic have made something of a habit of walking titles in recent times.
The club have won seven consecutive Scottish titles and two consecutive trebles. Brendan Rodgers has built something of a dynasty at Celtic.
Celtic are built on an incredible spine, players like Mikael Lustig, Scott Brown and Leigh Griffiths form an excellent backbone to a Celtic side brimming with talent. Rodgers has built a balanced side capable of regularly beating every other team in the SPL.
It is in Europe Brendan Rodgers will have his heart set on improving Celtic. Despite their domestic dominance, Celtic just haven’t stepped up to the plate on a European stage yet. After crashing out of the Champions League conceding 18 goals in their group, they went out early in the Europa League at the first game of asking to Russian Zenit Saint Petersburg.
Brendan Rodgers will be looking for continuous improvement season after season, and to do that he will have to add to his already very strong squad.
With that in mind, here are three players who would guarantee Celtic walking yet another SPL title…
Albert Adomah would add great strength in depth at Parkhead.
Quick, agile and strong, Adomah is the perfect modern day winger. Added to that, he scores goals. Fourteen Championship goals last season helped Aston Villa get to a play-off final.
The multitude of talents that Adomah has deserves some silverware, and he is very likely to find that if he moves to Glasgow.
Callum O’Dowda has shown glimpses of what he is capable of in both a Bristol City and an Ireland shirt.
Still just 23, O’Dowda could really excel under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic. He possesses fantastic pace, but also skill, technique and a pinpoint cross.
Starting his career at Oxford United, he played a crucial role in their promotion winning season to League One, at the tender age of 21. His form earnt him a move to Bristol City, and a senior Ireland call up, after years of impressing in Ireland’s youth set ups.
The £1m rated player would really kick on if he was given the chance to play for the Hoops.
James Chester would be a great addition for Celtic.
A Premier League quality centre back, he would not just ensure yet another SPL title but likely help the Parkhead outfit compete in Europe.
A perfect modern centre back with vast experience, if Celtic could sign the player from cash-strapped Aston Villa they would be doing a marvellous piece of business. Chester is a commanding centre back, with great ability on the ball. A club the size of Celtic seems the right fit for a player with the talent’s of James Chester.
