Our Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are glad to see their side in the top four, after what was a rocky start to the season last year. Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to bring in some talent in the summer to get next season off to a flyer and challenge for their first Premier League title

With Spurs currently sitting inside the top-four, Pochettino needs a good start to the next season to possibly get higher up the table, as a slow start had really hampered the Lillywhites this year. Many of his players have been with him on the incredible journey that has seen Spurs transform into title contenders in recent years and, for that to continue, there needs to be some summer expenditure.

However, this season things weren’t gelling like they have been in recent years, at the start and they looked to rely on their main man Harry Kane to push them forward far too often. Indeed, that’s been a problem for a while now.

If Spurs are to give a good account of themselves in both the League and Europe, the Argentine coach needs to start to invest in some quality squad depth according to our regulars.

With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at three potential players, Daniel Levy could look at bringing to the club this summer to ensure that first league win…

Wilfried Zaha

The Crystal Palace winger has been in sparkling form of late and is one of the main reasons behind Palace’s recent Premier League resurgence.

Although he didn’t quite make it at Old Trafford, the decision to opt for a return back to The Eagles seems to be paying off. Following a string of outstanding performances in the Premier League either side of his injury, the Ivory Coast international is looking back to the majestic talent that earnt him a move to United in the first place.

A move to Spurs would see Zaha make the step up in level once again and you’d think this time he’d be better prepared to fully take his chance.

Nabil Fekir

Nabil Fekir is having one of his best ever seasons in Europe at the moment. He is banging in goals left, right and centre and helping Lyon in Ligue 1 climb the table. Indeed, his range of passing and direct dribbling ability would surely mix things up at Spurs and, he could be the player to sit just behind Harry Kane whilst feeding him assist after assist, much like he has done for Lyon this season.

With Tottenham often struggling to break teams down, he could be the man to unlock a defence.

Gareth Bale

The former Spurs winger has had a fair few good years over in Spain with Real Madrid following his record-breaking move. In recent months, the Welsh wizard seems to have fallen out of favour with the supporters and manager amidst a string of injuries.

A move back to the Premier League has long been linked with him since the move to Spain and it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see him grace an English pitch once again in the near future. A quality addition on the level of Bale could be a stroke of genius as Spurs look to re-establish themselves among England’s elite.
