Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has told The Transfer Tavern that Tottenham are unlikely to sign Conor Coady this late in the window.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been desperately trying to add centre-backs to his squad after last season’s defensive problems and has already signed Cristian Romero from Atalanta.

And whilst both Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez, two players on the transfer list, were on top form against Manchester on Sunday, the Tottenham boss is still hoping to bring in one more central defender before the deadline.
According to Football Insider, Coady has been in preliminary talks over a move to north London and a reunion with Santo just months after the latter left Wolves, but Bridge simply can’t see a deal taking place.

Coady is Wolves’ captain and has been the heartbeat of their side since they were promoted back to the Premier League three years ago – missing just one game in that period.
He told The Transfer Tavern:
“I’ve not heard that one. I’ve seen it written down, but I think it’s putting two and two together. To get the Wolves captain at the end of August, I can’t see it happening.”
