The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that Liverpool’s Joe Gomez, who suffered an injury in England’s game against The Netherlands on Friday night, is set to miss both legs of the club’s Champions League tie. According to ESPN, Gomez will be out for a month, meaning he misses both legs of Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final.
The Citizens propping our bar up have injury news of their own as Benjamin Mendy should be back for the mouth-watering tie. The news that Gomez is out is obviously a blow for Liverpool fans, but whether he would’ve started is a different matter. Liverpool are currently the only Premier League team to have beaten Manchester City in 90 minutes, having taken all three points off of the Sky Blues back in January.
Despite managing to come out on top over Guardiola in January, Klopp faces an entirely different challenge next month as he faces the task of having to beat the Mancunian giants over two legs. Guardiola’s Manchester City juggernaut have only lost four games in all competitions this season and although two of those have come in Europe, it’s hard to see a way through for Liverpool as fans and bookies have made Manchester City the favourites for the huge Champions League quarter-final.

Poor lad must be terrified pretending to be injured so he doesn’t have to go up against @LeroySane19
