Southampton: Fans slam potential Nathan Redmond role change

Southampton fans are desperately against the suggestion that Nathan Redmond could line up as a striker for the Saints against Newcastle on Friday.
The south-coast outfit will be without Danny Ings against the Magpies. He came off injured against Aston Villa in their last match, and Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed that the Saints will be without their top goalscorer for the next four to six weeks.
As such, the Austrian will need to make a decision as to who will line up alongside Che Adams. On Wednesday, the club’s official Twitter account suggested that Redmond could be the man to step into the breach. Considering he has just 23 goals in 171 games for his current club, that seems a bit of a stretch.
Should Redmond start up front?
Yes

No

The Saints supporters are clearly against the idea of him starting up front, and they have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter.
Let’s see what they had to say about Puel below
That worked so well under Puel

No of course he shouldn’t, he’s no striker and it was tried when Claude Puel was manager and that didn’t work out well.

Nope

I hope not, it should be Theo.

Please no… he is best on the bench as there is too much lost possession when he makes his runs and the chances squandered are not good.

Problem with Nathan, for me, is the lack of consistent finishing. He flatters to deceive but his final shot is so often woeful. Time to give Dan N’Lundulu a go I think

In other news, Hasenhuttl has slammed this Southampton outcast.
