Southampton fans appear to be worried by comments from Adam Blackmore on prospective new owner Joseph DaGrosa.
The Saints are currently owned by Gao Jisheng, who is far from a popular figure on the south coast (This Is Futbol). It seems that the Chinese businessman is looking to move on from St. Mary’s Stadium, and DaGrosa has spoken out about wanting to purchase the club (The Athletic).
BBC journalist Blackmore was talking on Radio Solent, and he thinks DaGrosa would be bad news for Southampton. The American is reportedly looking to loan money from two establishments in an attempt to complete the transaction, something which does not sound good for the Saints if a deal were to go through.
Would you like DaGrosa to buy the club?
Blackmore’s comments were shared by Radio Solent’s Twitter page, and the fans took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on the matter.
Let’s see what the fans had to say about the comments from Blackmore on Gao
“Any Saints fan wanting DaGrosa is like Newcastle fans wanting the Saudi’s. Whilst what we have isn’t great, it’s better than the worst case scenario!”
“Yeah doesn’t sound good. Whilst I don’t really hve time for Gao we need to find an owner with good intentions”
“I’d rather see Mr Dagrosa buy a club that he can afford like Hull or Wigan and rebuild them. I don’t want Dagrosa, I want an owner with the money and if that means waiting another year then so be it.”
“Scary ! We could go the way of Coventry with the wrong owners.”
“Said we need to get rid of gao but not degroza he’s a waste of space want him no way near the club”
“This American idiot sounds worse than Gao and I don’t want another foreign owner with absolutely no affinity to the club or the city! People will talk about Liebherr, but that was a fairly low risk investment for him, albeit just what we needed at the time.”
In other news, Southampton fans want this 88-goal striker.
