Southampton: Fans praise Alex McCarthy
Southampton fans have been praising Alex McCarthy after the club’s official Twitter account asked for their opinion on the £5.85m-rated (Transfermarkt) 31-year-old.
McCarthy has played every minute of every game for the Gers so far this campaign as the south-coast outfit fly high towards the top of the division. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men are currently in sixth place in the Premier League, and McCarthy has kept four clean sheets during that time.
Since signing for the club in 2016, he has made 92 appearances and has made himself Hasenhuttl’s first-choice between the sticks. He has even earned an England cap since moving to St. Mary’s Stadium.
