Southampton: Saints fans slam Theo Walcott vs Chelsea - Premier League

During Southampton’s clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, some Saints supporters were less than impressed with the performance of winger Theo Walcott.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side travelled to west London today in a bid to turn around their fortunes as they linger near the Premier League’s relegation zone.

Southampton lost a few key players in the summer window with both Danny Ings and Jannik Vestergaard sealing moves to Aston Villa and Leicester City respectively.

To maintain their English top flight status, Hasenhuttl and co could be set for a challenging 2021/2022 campaign overall.

As their side took on European champions Chelsea this afternoon, some Southampton supporters were less than impressed with Walcott’s outing.

The Saints even saw fit to took him off at half time after a first half where he missed one big chance to draw level.

Taking just 17 touches, that was the closest he came to making a significant impact before his withdrawal as supporters criticised the former England international’s display.

“Nathan Redmond is not the “issue” today mate. Leave it out. Liveramento been terrible, Walcott shocking, JWP ineffective and Armstrong looks miles off the level right now. So let’s not turn this into a Redmond debate.”
