Southampton: Fans react to tweet on James Beattie

Southampton fans have been reacting to a tweet from the club’s official Twitter account about former Saints striker James Beattie.
On Saturday, the former England international celebrated his 43rd birthday. He is probably best known for his spell on the south coast – in 217 games for the club, he racked up 72 goals, and was a menace throughout his time with them (Transfermarkt). He ended with 139 strikes by the end of his career.
To wish him well on his birthday, the club decided to share a video of Beattie scoring a stunner against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. That attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, with some asking whether he would still be up for playing for them.
