Southampton have urged former striker Manolo Gabbiadini to return to the club after a video of a goal of his was shared by the club on his 29th birthday.
The Italy international made the move to the Saints in 2017 for £14m and scored six goals in his first 12 games for the club. He only managed a further eight goals in 48 appearances on the south coast, but he still seems to be popular amongst the club’s supporters. He now plays his football back in his homeland with Sampdoria.
His popularity may be in part down to the goal he netted against Swansea in 2018, which helped the Saints stay in the Premier League. It was a clip of this strike that was shared by the club’s official Twitter account, and that led to a number of fans asking the £9m-valued man (Transfermarkt) to re-sign for them.
Would you like to re-sign Manolo Gabbiadini?
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Let’s see what the fans had to say about Gabbiadini below
Good player, we just didn’t set the team up to play to his strengths. Would make a clever run and we passed sideways and backwards, rather than to him. Would be great under Ralph.

Happy birthday bro. Reckon you would have been immense in this current team and with Ralph looking on. Ings, Adams and Gabbi up front all feeding off one another 🤘👍
