Southampton: Saints eye Jeremie Frimpong

According to The Scottish Sun, Southampton are interested in signing Celtic defender Jeremie Frimpong.
Saints eye Frimpong
Celtic have been in talks with Frimpong over a new deal after he joined the Bhoys in the summer of 2018. As of yet, though, no new deal has been struck between the two parties.
As such, that has opened the door to interest from not only the Saints, but also a number of English Championship clubs.
Bargain deal
This would no doubt be a bargain deal for Ralph Hasenhuttl and co. At just 20-years-old, he already has 41 appearances to his name at Parkhead since joining from Manchester City, scoring three goals and providing six assists.
He has been on the end of praise from Neil Lennon, who called him an “energetic buzzbomb”, while Alan Hutton compared him to Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is currently valued at £99m (Transfermarkt) and has a Champions League medal and a Premier League medal to his name.
Would you like to sign Frimpong?
Yes

No

Southampton already have Kyle Walker-Peters on the right of their back four, but there is nothing wrong in picking up a potential bargain when it is available. Valued at just £2.7m (Transfermarkt), Frimpong would unlikely break the bank at St. Mary’s Stadium. It is certainly a deal Hasenhuttl and his team should continue to consider.
In other news, Southampton fans react to worrying news on this 27-year-old.
