Southampton fans want to sign Everton youngster Thierry Small after they were linked with a move for the 17-year-old.

The Saints have been busy in the transfer market so far this summer, bringing in no less than five new arrivals in Romain Perraud (southamptonfc.com), Danyl Simeu (chelseafc.com), Valentino Livramento, Armando Broja and Adam Armstrong.

The St. Mary's Stadium outfit's transfer policy is to sign young players with a big sell-on value (Hampshire Live), and all of those players fit in with that plan as they are all aged under 25.

According to Football Insider, the club now have another youngster on their radar. They say the south-coast outfit are interested in Small, and he could be available for a compensation fee of £5m.

A left-back, he made his debut for the Toffees' senior side last season (Transfermarkt).

The news was shared on Twitter by @SaintsExtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the Southampton supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts, where one fan called the starlet a 'top talent'.
