The punters in the Football Transfer Tavern can still not get their heads around David Moyes’ Manchester United, this season.
We screened the Red Devils game against Crystal Palace and, although they won 2-0, you never felt convinced by the performance of Robin van Persie & co.
Despite the performance, a win is a win, and the Manchester United supporting customers definitely decided to celebrate a rare three points under David Moyes.
They put ‘Glory, glory Man United’ on the jukebox, painted their faces red and designed a few banners that they proudly hung all over the tavern.
The thing is with United fans, they just don’t think. After Wayne Rooney signed his new mega £300,000-a-week contract – and given the season they’re having – I advised them to take this banner down from above the pool table.
