Once a month, the Football Transfer Tavern hosts my favourite event…karaoke.
It is a brilliant night; a lovely finger food buffet, the place is rammed with customers and there is always a real feel good factor about the place.
This month’s contest was probably the best yet – I even had a go with my landlord, we absolutely killed Elton John and Kiki Dee’s classic ‘Don’t go breaking my heart.’
Other renditions included a couple of Arsenal fans singing Take That’s ‘I want you back for good’ while staring at a picture of Cesc Fabregas.
A group of Liverpool supporting punters sung S Club 7’s classic ‘Reach’ – this was a clearly based around the Anfield club’s push for the Premier League’s top four.
Swansea City fans dedicated Kaiser Chiefs ‘Out of my depth’ to their rivals Cardiff City – I wish they hadn’t done this as things got a little heated for a few minutes.
Their was no doubting the winners, though. It went to couple of Manchester United punters who, thinking about it, looked a lot like Wayne Rooney and David Moyes.
