Sometimes, due to occurrences on the pitch, the Football Transfer Tavern can become a rather hostile and downbeat place.

The Manchester City punters are feeling pretty smug over Yaya Toure’s ability to kick Norwich City’s Ricky van Wolfswinkel and escape punishment.

Liverpool fans are still celebrating the opening 20 minutes of Saturday’s game against the Gunners – which has meant we have a total of zero Arsenal supporting customers in at the moment.

In order to unite all the fans again and turn the topic of conversation away from what happened in 90 minutes, over the weekend, my landlord decided to host a retro football shirt evening.

It was a great success, we had some old school JVC Arsenal kits, a few hipsters came in their 1981 Borussia Dortmund tops and there was even a 1961 Crewe Alexandra full kit monstrosity.

However, one Manchester United punter surprised us all and rocked up in a kit that we’d never seen before.

Apparently, this is next season’s outfit of choice for the Red Devils. It looks like things aren’t going well on and off of the pitch for David Moyes’ side…
