Call me old fashioned but I wish the punters didn’t always talk about football. Then again, maybe I shouldn’t work in a place called the Football Transfer Tavern.

My point is that we were all discussing our all-time favourite films and I got the ball rolling with Toy Story – don’t judge me, you know you love it.

Then the punters started throwing their favourites into the proverbial ring and we were getting comments like:

“Escape to Victory is mine, an absolute classic. I still maintain that Pele should’ve stuck to the acting route.”

“The first Goal film was sensational viewing, I felt like I was there. I actually think it was based on my life.”

I wish I was making this up.

Anyway, one punter said his favourite football film was Home Alone because Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, Adnan Januzaj and Marouane Fellaini all starred in it.

I think he has had a few too many, don’t you agree?
