When Arsenal lose, Piers Morgan gets vocal and a few Spurs fans here in the Transfer Tavern have even mocked up masks of the well-known Gunners ‘superfan’ to wear just to wind up their bitter rivals.
Naturally, the former Daily Mirror editor has been active on Twitter this week, with his beloved Arsenal having slipped to a 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace, which has left their top four hopes hanging by a thread given Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United’s positive results on the weekend. Indeed, the Londoners are seven points behind the Citizens in the last Champions League qualification slot and have just one game in hand on Pep Guardiola’s men.
A bone of contention Morgan has is Arsene Wenger’s role as manager and he took the opportunity this afternoon to slate the Frenchman…
Pathetic to see a once-proud winner like Wenger reduced to this losing limpet. Somebody put him, and us, out of this misery. #afc pic.twitter.com/idJUaA68wz
