The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are itching to see their side return to Premier League action against Swansea City this evening.
Jurgen Klopp takes his side to South Wales to face Swansea City this evening on the back of a famous victory over league-leaders Manchester City last time out. The Reds ended City’s incredible run without defeat in the Premier League with an enthralling 4-3 victory at Anfield two Sunday’s ago, and they will be fully expecting to build on that result against rock-bottom Swansea tonight.
On paper, Liverpool have the strength in their squad to mount a title-challenge, but their inability to maintain a consistent pattern of victories against weaker opposition has often proven to be their downfall in seasons gone by.
With that being said, Liverpool must prove they are capable of competing for honours at the summit of the English top-flight by comfortably easing past Carlos Carvalhal’s side tonight.
Ahead of their evening fixture, the Liverpool supporters have been discussing Klopp’s potential starting line-up on Twitter.
And judging by the comments so far, it appears that an overwhelming majority of Liverpool fans are hoping that Klopp will leave the club-captain Jordan Henderson on the bench this evening and hand a starting berth to Emre Can.
Henderson has taken plenty of stick from the Anfield terraces so far this season for his below-par performances in Liverpool red, and unless he makes a dramatic improvement towards the end of the season, his time as captain of the club looks set to reach its natural conclusion.
