The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for it to be official that Emre Can has left the club. The German international had agreed to swap Liverpool for Juventus when his contract expired this month and whilst the fans thought he had already left, although according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the deal isn’t yet complete and he’s undergoing a medical tomorrow.

Whilst Emre Can has delivered some superb moments in a Liverpool shirt and been a great servant for the club in time at Anfield, the fans will not look back on him fondly, mainly because of the ever-present contract issues that have now killed his Liverpool career. The 24-year-old German had been involved in stuttered contract extension talks that stretch back to 2016 but the difference in valuation and wages between the player and club proved too much to come to an agreement.
Now, the 24-year-old all-action midfielder will be taking to the Serie A and plying his trade at Juventus, who have won seven consecutive Italian League titles and three consecutive League and Cup doubles. Can will now be hoping he can write his name into the Juve history books, playing alongside fellow German, Sami Khedira, he’ll be keen to learn from his experienced countryman and help the Turin side to future successes, both domestically and in Europe.
