It’s already been an incredibly busy summer for the Rangers fans here in the Transfer Tavern. With Steven Gerrard announced as the club’s new boss, our local Light Blues can’t wait to see who else follows the likes of Scott Arfield and Alan McGregor through the Ibrox doors.
Naturally, the Gers have been linked with a lorry load of players. Indeed, it’d almost be easier to sit here and name the players not touted with a move to Glasgow this summer, though one name in particular has been mooted as a potential summer target for the Scottish giants.
Former Liverpool favourite Martin Skrtel – who played with Gerrard for years at Anfield – has previously been reported to be of interest to the Bears’ gaffer. However, according to the Daily Express, the Slovakian isn’t on the club’s radar this summer, despite Gerrard’s rebuild.
So, having said that, here’s a look at the reaction online, with many not believing the club aren’t keen. Indeed, they seem to think it’s a financial issue.

Believe nothing till you hear from a good source. The express isn't that. Plenty of other reports saying deal has pretty much been signed.

We’ve had Torres for Rangers rumours, now Skrtel. I expect Jamie Carragher, Michael Owens and Louis Suárez rumours by the middle of next week.

Sounds like he’s rejected the move. Devlin wouldn’t have been fed the information if the board didn’t think it was a goer.
