The Spurs part of the Tavern is filled with optimism following their side’s form in the last few weeks.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have won all six of their last six fixtures which has put Tottenham right back in the title race although our landlord believes that the seven point gap between the Lillywhites and the Premier League leaders, Chelsea, is too much for them to bridge with just six games remaining.

Our resident Spurs fans in the Tavern are a bit more optimistic and with the performances of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min bringing lots of cheer, the belief is well and truly present in the Spurs section of the Transfer Tavern.

Alongside this, the return of Harry Kane from the bench in the 4-0 win against Watford last weekend has boosted the Tottenham fans’ hopes and they truly believe anything can happen.

Our landlord agrees that Spurs have been impressive this season but feels they are a few players short if they are to challenge for the league title. In order to back up his point, he has been down in his beer cellar after hours checking out potential talent that could arrive at Tottenham next season to take them up a level.

Here, then, are the three players our landlord feels Spurs must scout in order to enhance their squad next season…

Wilfried Zaha

One of the most popular topics in the Transfer Tavern, Spurs fans have been impressed with Zaha whilst he has strutted his stuff for relegation candidates, Crystal Palace, this season.

Our landlord feels the Ivory Coast international is already on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar and his scouts will only have to make a short trip across London in order to look at the talented winger.

Javier Hernandez

Our landlord believes that Pochettino must get his scouts out to Germany to look at Javier Hernandez, for the remainder of the season.

The Spurs fans in the Tavern have been less than impressed with Vincent Janssen’s impact in his first season and would love to see the Mexican arrive as an alternative option to main man, Harry Kane.

Chicharito scored 26 goals in all competitions for Leverkusen last season but hasn’t been as effective for the German club this season in which he has 12 goals in all competitions.

Marcelo Brozovic

The Croatian midfielder really can marshal midfield and is very similar to Moussa Dembele in playing style.

Both can get forward well with the ball and take on opposition players so he’d likely fit in well at the Lane. That, then, is no bad thing and our landlord believes that Tottenham scouts should be in the San Siro looking at Brozovic whilst Spurs fans in the Tavern feel the 24-year-old could really enhance their squad.
