No matter who they support, pretty much all of the punters in the Transfer Tavern have been pledging their support for poor old Danny Ings.
Having missed much of the campaign last season, the 23-year-old was cruelly struck down by ANOTHER long-term knee injury and looks hugely unlikely to play again this term.
Now, thanks to reports from the Daily Mail, the Sunderland, Leicester City and Stoke City fans are wondering just what might have been.
They’ve revealed that the Potters, Foxes and the Black Cats ALL made approaches to sign the former Burnley man over the course of the summer, though were reportedly knocked back by the Reds.
Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon are also said to have weighed up a move.
Jurgen Klopp is understood to have been impressed with the one-cap England international’s work in training and he was expected to have a big part to play on Merseyside.
Will Ings still be able to salvage a top-level career? Let us know below…
