Metro have Manchester United fans rolling their eyes here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think Jorge Mendes is once again embroiled in a war of words with Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal.
There can only be one player who has caused that – Radamel Falcao.
The Colombian international has once again seen his future at the club questioned after a couple of less than stellar performances with his misses talked about more often than anything else.
Mendes defended one of his most lucrative clients and claimed: “I miss [Sir Alex] Ferguson at Manchester United. With him and this squad the situation would be different.”
Now as one of our punters notes over a pint, that is more than a little bit passive aggressive by anyone’s standards and given Louis van Gaal isn’t exactly a manager who sits back and lets his name be tarnished by the media or others in football, we are pretty sure he has a couple of responses lined up for these jibes!
Our regulars are now convinced that it Falcao won’t be penning a permanent deal at Old Trafford for next season and it remains to be seen whether he will continue to forge a career for himself back at Monaco in Ligue 1.
