The Reds are performing fantastically this season, and that has been cemented by a number of convincing wins since the season began – with their dominant victory over Chelsea perhaps the most significant.

For the first time in several years, the Reds look likely to play a real role in the title race this season – and the Liverpool fans in the Tavern are loving life under Klopp.

However, whilst Liverpool are doing well – their squad is far from complete. A recent injury to Coutinho has proven that the club are far too reliant upon the Brazilian, and so it would appear likely that Klopp will look to bulk out his midfield in January.

With the January transfer window often a notoriously difficult time to sign players, Klopp might struggle, but surely 1 of these 4 midfielders should join Liverpool in January – right?

 Geoffrey Kondogbia

Geoffrey Kondogbia has not had the best time of it at Inter Milan, and he could see an opening at Liverpool appearing in the new year.

A powerful, controlling defensive midfielder – Kondogbia is the player that Liverpool have lacked this year. Much in the ilk of a player like N’Golo Kante – he could be the difference maker.

He isn’t as high-profile or exciting as most names – but he would be a real upgrade for Jurgen Klopp.

Christian Pulisic

Christian Pulisic has long been linked to Liverpool, and this deal is looking increasingly likely.

An exciting American attacking midfielder, Pulisic has been making waves in the Bundesliga as of late, and ex-Dortmund boss Klopp could have his eye on him.

If the German is looking for a long-term solution, Pulisic is his man – and the proposed deal has been welcomed by the Liverpool fans in the Tavern.

 Soualiho Meïté

Liverpool have recently been linked with a move for Soualiho Meite – and it is easy to see why.

A classy defensive midfielder, Meite has impressed for Zulte Waregem this season – and that has prompted interest from across Europe.

Liverpool could look to move in early and get a deal done in January.

 Marco Reus

On first glance, this move would appear an audacious one – but as you delve deeper, the deal slowly begins to look more likely.

On a basic level, Liverpool are desperate for depth in attacking midfield. Coutinho’s injury has signalled how reliant the club are on him, and so Reus would be a great option.

You also have to consider the connection between Reus and Klopp – given that the German boss helped mould the player into that he is today. There is clearly a relationship there.

Dortmund, you would think, would be unlikely to want to sell – but Reus has had some serious injury problems lately, and a deal might actually make sense for them. If Liverpool were to come in with a big offer in order to get an injury-stricken player off their books – they could well jump at the chance.

If the pieces all fall together, this move could work for all parties.
