Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to get one over on their fiercest rivals and leap-frog them into second.
Liverpool are on a brilliant run of late, one which has seen them climb steadily into the top-four and close the gap on today’s opponents, Man Utd. A win today would help them lift above the Red Devils while aiming to finish best of the rest come the end of the season, as well as build confidence ahead of next season.
Jurgen Klopp has really got this team gelling over the course of the campaign and, with the goalkeeping option starting to sort itself out, it’s reverberating confidence through the team. Loris Karius is impressing between the sticks and the side look better in general.
Liverpool are a dangerous team going forward and can beat anyone on their day, that much is obvious. However, United will look to stifle them from the start, so with that in mind, our landlord takes a look at what TWO players he feels should come in for Emre Can and provide something different to the German…
Adam Lallana

The former Southampton man can be used to spark creativity and ingenuity in the centre of the park. No doubt Mourinho is going to set his team up to blanket cover the midfield and suffocate them from the back, so having someone to pick up space between the lines if of vital importance. Indeed, Lallana is a special player and one that could unlock the door today.
While Klopp will be cautious of the counter-attack our regulars feel that attack is the best form of defence and another attack-minded player in the team will aid the victory.
James Milner

Mr Reliable could be set loose today, should Klopp go for a more cautious approach. James Milner can do literally any job Klopp sets out for him and, with United’s pace and youthfulness, Milner may be the man to stand in their way and look to hunt down the dangerous men in the team.
Milner will be hoping to impress enough to start a run in the team himself and a big performance can only help his cause.
