Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a big summer in terms of change and some feel it’s much needed, despite winning the Premier League title only last season 

Antonio Conte’s future continues to grab all the headlines with the Blues not exactly firing on all cylinders this season and more so since the turn of the year. Conte looks like he’s feeling the wrath of the ‘winning the Premier League’ curse that has plagued many managers in the past few years and the Blues in our bar feel an exit is a certainty.

Many of the regulars in the bar feel that if Conte does walk out this summer, it could cause a mass exodus at Stamford Bridge, such is the nature of the club at the moment. As ever, some feel it’s about time, while some don’t.

However, if Conte was to walk a few players may look at it as a chance for a new opportunity and a fresh start. With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at TWO players he feels will follow the Italian out of the door…

Thibaut Courtois

The Blues’ No.1 goalkeeper has been making headlines over his recent interview in which he claims that his heart is still in Madrid, alongside his family who lives there.

With Real Madrid seemingly always on the lookout for a No.1 goalkeeper every summer, this seems like a likely match-up. Courtois may see the summer as a time to move his career to Spain with his family and create a stability that Chelsea do not bring with their constant chopping and changing.

Eden Hazard

In a cruel double swoop, Madrid could grab a fellow club and country teammate in Hazard to the Bernabeu. Los Blancos are looking at replacing Ronaldo and revitalising the team with a few new Galacticos to bridge the gap to Barcelona next season.

The Belgian pairing would be a great double swoop, and with Hazard’s career seemingly stalling at Chelsea, a move to Madrid may be the move he craves and certainly feels he’s earned over the years at Stamford Bridge.
