The Eagles are hoping to avoid relegation this season under the guidance of former England manager Roy Hodgson, but injuries continue to halt the progress of Palace as the 70-year-old is having to deal with slim pickings. Indeed, defeat against Chelsea at the weekend was always expected as the Blues look to secure a Champions League spot, with a sloppy first half performance from Crystal Palace helping the defending champions’ cause.

However, the Eagles’ poor start to the season has been the main reason behind their current position in the league table, as definite improvements are needed in the summer months. Indeed, a lack of goals and a poor defensive record has many of our locals fearing for their future in the top-flight, with plenty of movement expected when the transfer window reopens in May.

Chung-Yong Lee

The South Korean has seen his career come to a standstill over the past couple of seasons with Crystal Palace, with only eight appearances in all competitions to his name so far this campaign.

Indeed, the 29-year-old winger has struggled to break into the side with the likes of Andros Townsend, Wilfried Zaha and Bakary Sako all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Therefore, after suffering from an injury and a lack of minutes in the first-team so far this campaign, he looks to be heading for an inevitable exit in the summer transfer window.

Jason Puncheon

Jason Puncheon was an iconic figure in Palace’s last campaign after producing some magnificent performances, but has struggled to replicate the fine form this season with only 12 appearances to his name in all competitions.

Indeed, the midfielder is currently suffering from a cruciate ligament rupture that’ll see him play no further part in the current campaign, which won’t make too much of a difference for Palace after seeing the Englishman spend most of his time on the bench.

Therefore, after failing to break into the starting XI and with a serious injury halting the progress of Puncheon, an exit in the summer months could be an option as the Eagles will look to bring in some fresh legs.
