Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for further investments in the summer as they feel the team can really kick on next year with the right players brought in.
Jurgen Klopp, so far this year, has moulded his team into a fearful and dangerous attacking force, one of the best in Europe. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for his backline which has let him down time and time again up to now. However, the signing of Virgil Van Dijk in the winter should help towards that situation.
If Klopp wants to impress the Red fans in the bar next year, then a little ruthlessness in the transfer market would go a long way. There are a few players within the squad that should be moved on in our regulars eyes and replaced with a higher quality of player.
Klopp has yet to win a trophy during his tenure at Anfield and, will be hoping to change that with some big courses of action in the summer months. It can start by possibly selling these two players…
Simon Mignolet

The Belgian goalkeeper is probably sick to the back teeth of the see-saw season that has seen him in and out of goal all campaign. Klopp has failed to stick with a permanent number one between the sticks so far, however, it does seem that maybe Mignolet’s teammate and rival Loris Karius is getting the nod ahead of him in recent weeks.
Mignolet could leave for further first team action on a regular basis this summer, and it wouldn’t be a bad move all around.
Joel Matip

Centre-back Joel Matip is a player who is also losing out on first team minutes since the arrival of Van Dijk. Indeed, Matip has been reduced to fewer minutes on the pitch as Dejan Lovren pairs the Dutchman. A fight between him and Lovren has emerged for the partnering spot alongside the new addition to the team, one the former Schalke man is losing.
A move away to gain first-team minutes is probably on the cards, as he could become frustrated with life at Anfield.
