Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern will have all eyes on the summer transfer window, in a bid to freshen the team up with some comings and goings.

This season, the Red Devils have had their best campaign in the league since they last won the Premier League in 2013. However, the form of local rivals Man City has overshadowed what many in the bar have seen as progression under Jose Mourinho.

Although Mourinho’s getting United firing on all cylinders, there are a few players freezing as they have been cast aside in the cold. Some of the punters have noticed the Portuguese has started to upset a few players with his tough love, as he searches for more trophies in his United tenure.

With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at a couple of United stars that risk being sold by Mourinho this summer, if this current form continues…

Paul Pogba

With reports breaking recently of unhappiness over the formation and personal performances, Paul Pogba’s honeymoon period at United is fading away. Mourinho is no stranger to transfer business that may upset a few people, and our fans in the bar would not be surprised to see the Frenchman leave Old Trafford for a second time.

Indeed, after the arrival of Alexis Sanchez, Pogba seems to have had his nose put out of joint.

Ander Herrera

The Spaniard has been reduced to a backup squad member this season, only getting eight starts in the Premier League so far. After last season with many of our regulars thinking he could have got the captain’s armband, it’s certainly a fall from grace for Herrera.

Herrera has been linked with many clubs around Europe, and our barman feels if the right offer comes along this summer, Mourinho will be more than happy to accept.
