Surely these 2 Rangers players need to start vs Kilmarnock later

Rangers fans here in the Tavern are still yet to get over the disappointment of defeat in the Old Firm clash, as their hopes of securing the Scottish Premiership title have now vanished.

Graeme Murty will be bitterly disappointed with the way his side threw away a couple of promising positions against Celtic last time out, as Rangers lost out in the race for the Scottish Premier League title. Indeed, many of our local residents are desperate for their side to bring silverware to Ibrox this season, with the Scottish Cup being the only chance left for the Bluenoses.

However, they welcome Kilmarnock to Ibrox later on today in a league match, with the opposition looking to extend their Scottish Premiership unbeaten streak to eight matches. Although, Graeme Murty’s men have a point to prove after suffering defeat in the Old Firm clash, so will be looking to give the home fans something to shout about by securing all three points.

Therefore, here’s a look at TWO Rangers players that must start vs Kilmarnock later…

Jason Cummings

Jason Cummings joined Rangers on loan from English Championship side Nottingham Forest in January, and it’s fair to say he’s produced some moments of brilliance in Glasgow thus far.

Indeed, the 22-year-old has bagged five goals in 11 appearances since moving to Scotland, with three of these goals coming in a Man of the Match performance against Falkirk in the Scottish Cup.

Therefore, Rangers must start Cummings later today against Kilmarnock, after failing to make it into the starting line-up against Celtic last time out.

Jason Holt

Jason Holt has struggled for a place in the starting line-up ever since the Gers welcomed Sean Goss and Greg Docherty to the club in January, with the midfielder only receiving eight minutes of football since the start of February.

Although, Sean Goss looked tired in Rangers’ last performance against bitter rivals Celtic, having started every game for the club since joining on loan from Queens Park Rangers.

Therefore, Jason Holt should be gifted a start later today against Kilmarnock, to provide much-needed rest for Sean Goss and to prove he has a future at the club.
