Liverpool supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern in the last few days after seeing their side thump Watford 5-0 at Anfield on Saturday to reclaim third place from Tottenham in the Premier League table.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were the only team in the top eight of the division in action over the weekend due to FA Cup commitments, and they took advantage to open up a sizable gap between themselves and fifth place Chelsea in the quest for Champions League qualification. And Mohamed Salah was again the star of the show by bagging four times at Anfield, with Roberto Firmino adding the other to seal a massive win for the Merseysiders, a result which moved them above Spurs back into third place in the Premier League.

As such, there have been many thrilled Liverpudlians in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are hoping their side continue their fine run of form and thus go on to secure another top four finish this season, which would be their second in succession.

In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Reds fans to get their teeth into, not least recent reports linking goalkeeper Simon Mignolet with a move away this summer.

The 30-year-old has lost his place as the club’s number one goalkeeper since the turn of the year, and given Loris Karius’ solid efforts between the sticks in the meantime, it doesn’t look like the Belgium international has much of a future at Anfield.

And reports suggest that he could well be on his way out of the club this summer, and were he to indeed leave Liverpool during the close season, here are TWO other stars who should follow him out the exit door…

Danny Ings

It has been a testing time for Danny Ings ever since he made the move to Liverpool back in 2015, with injuries decimating his time on Merseyside.

The 25-year-old has been restricted to just 19 senior appearances for Klopp’s men as a result of a cruciate ligament injury suffered back in October 2015, yet with the form of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Mohamed Salah, it’s not looking like he’ll get into the side even when back to full fitness.

As such, the former Burnley forward may look to reignite his career this summer in a bid for the regular football he isn’t likely to get at Anfield.

Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has found gametime hard to come by since the arrival of Klopp back in October 2015, to the point that he was shipped out on loan to West Brom back in January in a bid for first team football.

The 28-year-old started just six times for the Reds in the first half of the campaign to underline his first team struggles, and given the incredible goal-scoring form of Firmino, Mane, and Salah this term, getting back into the side next season isn’t going to be easy for the England international.

And were Sturridge fail to make Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad this summer, it might be the clearest indication yet that he needs to leave Liverpool permanently to pursue his career.
