Our Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern are getting excited about leaving Wembley and move into their new home on the patch of their old ground and, hope it can be the start of a new lease of life for the North London club.

Tottenham took a while to overcome their infamous Wembley hoodoo and, the Spurs fans in the bar are hoping that hoodoo will not follow them to their new stadium. Mauricio Pocettino had to qualify for the Champions League as a minimum for next season, and it didn’t look on the cards in the first half of the campaign, although the second half has certainly seen the Lilywhites up their game.

A lot of the current players will want to be a part of the team going into the new era, however, our regulars believe that one or two of them are not going to get that far – unfortunately for them.

The Argentine runs quite a tight ship within his team, indeed, the barman feels that a huge shakeup within the squad is the best thing for the team – if Pochettino truly wants to bring trophies to define his time at the club in the new stadium. With that said, these TWO Spurs players, after this season will surely have no future…

Fernando Llorente

The former Swansea striker came to Spurs to play back-up to Harry Kane although, unfortunately for the Spaniard, he has simply not found his shooting boots when the opportunity has arisen. What Pochettino needs is a striker that can play second fiddle to the English marksman but also can step up to the mark when asked too

Llorente is in his 30’s and a move to a team, much like his old club Swansea, would be better suited for him at this stage of his career.

Toby Alderweireld

The Belgian defender has been struggling for game-time following his return from injury recently, despite his previous importance to the Tottenham cause. He still has a year left on his contract and many of the Premier League clubs are starting to sniff around the centre-back.

With his age and experience, he would be a great buy for a rival. Indeed, it seems that Pochettino is willing to go in another direction away from Alderweireld, with Davinson Sanchez impressing at the club since his arrival in the summer.
