Tasty Bit Of Transfer Business Only Enhances Tony’s Status

According to tuttomercatoweb.com Tony Pulis is lining up a possible move for former Real Madrid star Mahamadou Diarra.

The Malian international who was released by the Spanish Galactico’s in January after five years at the Bernabeu returned to France where he had spent a large portion of his career with Lyon.

He signed for Monaco and made eight appearances in a bid to help them avoid the drop out of Frances top flight for the first time since 1976, but the inevitable happened and the 2004 Champions league finalists plummeted out of the division.

Diarra is once again on the look out to ply his trade elsewhere as he is available on a free yet again come the end of June.

Tony Pulis will certainly have a job on his hands to convince the defensive midfielder the Britannia stadium is the right destination for him, as the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Spurs, Fiorentina, Juventus, Fenerbahce, and Galatasaray were all rumoured to be happy to throw him a life line after his departure from the Spanish capital.

At the age of 30, I’m sure he has plenty left in the tank and would relish the opportunity to take up a new challenge in different country. But would that be in England?

It wouldn’t surprise me if the Potters boss kept up his commendable reputation where the transfer market is concerned, and add the tough tackler to his ever improving Stoke City squad.
