The Crystal Palace fans sure are an excited bunch in the Transfer Tavern at present following the news they have just received about their new manager.

Dutchman, Frank de Boer was designated the Palace reigns on Monday and with the promise of attractive football on the horizon – our landlord is looking forward to seeing the type of football that the Eagles will produce during the 2017/18 season.

Of course, de Boer will need to rejuvenate the Palace squad to suit his style of football and that may mean that some players will have to leave Selhurst Park. This statement has definitely caused a mass debate in the Tavern and the Palace fans, who were so nervous to see who would take over their club, are now talking about which players may be coming and going from Palace with some interesting names being thrown into the mix.

Some of these players may be seen as dead wood for some time and a move out of the club may still be what they need despite the change of manager, as it is widely expected that de Boer will bring in his own players and the individuals that have been seen to be rotting at the club surely will be the first players to go.

So with that said, let’s take a look at the two Eagles that need to escape the club ASAP…

Julian Speroni

Speroni is a quality goalkeeper in his own right but with Steve Mandanda expected to be fit for the new season and Wayne Hennessey being preferred as the back up option, our landlord believes Speroni may be better off leaving Palace.

The Argentine is fast approaching the twilight of his career and the Eagles in the Tavern would love to see Speroni have one last hurrah in his career before he calls time on his career. The right thing is for Speroni to find a club that gives him the first team football that he deserves after the fourteen years of loyalty he has shown to the club.

Bakary Sako

The Mali international has struggled to oust Wilfried Zaha, Andros Townsend and Jason Puncheon from the Palace starting XI for some time now and the Eagles in the Tavern are beginning to think Sako may be rotting at their club.

Our landlord agrees and he feels Sako would actually be a handy pick up for a side in the bottom half of the Premier League or the Championship and in order to rejuvenate his career, a move may well be handy to instigate this.
