The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are always on the look out for who might be the next young superstar at Old Trafford…
There is a rich history at the club of building young talent, with the now famous ‘Class of ’92’ serving as the benchmark for academy development to this very day.
Over the last few years, it has all gone relatively quiet on that front, though, and that has given the Man Utd fans in the pub a real itch to see a few more young players come through the ranks.
Marcus Rashford looks destined to be a star, and whilst Mourinho was expected to limit his involvement, he has flourished under the Portuguese manager. But our landlord doesn’t think that Mourinho can stop there.
To the contrary, he thinks that there are so many young players at Old Trafford that deserve a chance, many of whom could be real stars.
Let’s take a look at two of them…
Axel Tuanzebe

A centre back by trade, Tuanzebe found himself given an opportunity in many positions by Jose Mourinho at the back end of last season which surely shows the trust that the United manager already has in the 19-year-old Englishman.
Although he featured in the closing part of last season, Tuanzebe is still relatively unknown but our landlord reckons that the little experience he gained last season will put him in a great position to really kick on and make a name for himself throughout next year.
The Red Devils in the Tavern agree and although they have seen little of Tuanzebe, they believe the talent is there to make him into a United great.
Angel Gomes

The excitement around Angel Gomes from the Manchester United fans in the Tavern is very high and they cannot wait to follow the career of the young attacking midfielder.
When Gomes made his debut from the bench against Crystal Palace at the back end of last season, he became the first player born in the 2000’s to grace the pitch in a Premier League game and his talent will ensure that is not the last time he does so.
It will certainly be worth keeping an eye to see if Gomes can live up to the hype in his United career.
