Cameron Carter-Vickers
19-year-old defender Cameron Carter-Vickers managed to make an impression last season in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, featuring in fixtures against Juventus and Atletico Madrid, and made his first-team debut in the League Cup earlier this season.
However, the young defender has failed to earn significant opportunities since but the opportunity could open up next season- especially if the Lilywhites continue with a three-man defence, as rotation will be necessary due to involvement in the Champions League.
Marcus Edwards
Remarkably compared to Lionel Messi by Mauricio Pochettino this season, Marcus Edwards showed flashes of his brilliance in a League Cup tie this season against Gillingham where he came on for the final 15 minutes of the game and struck the crossbar.
The attacking midfielder faces a lot of competition to feature in his position in the first-team but he turns 19 in December and will be looking to earn a Premier League debut. For that to happen, Edwards will have to impress during the pre-season campaign and must show he’s capable of coping with the rigours of first-team football.
