Jurgen Klopp has had time now to assess his Liverpool squad fully, and our local Reds punters in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see how the German revolutionises the club.

The Anfield faithful are all to aware of what Klopp did in his previous job at Dortmund turning them from also-rans into Bundesliga champions, as well as making them one of the most impressive teams in Europe and this is what they want him to do at Liverpool.

Whether he can do this remains to be seen as he goes about shaping the squad into the playing style he demands from his teams.

There are plenty of standout names Klopp can work with such as Philipe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge to help fire Liverpool to success, but there’s also some other players that perhaps don’t get as big a mention that should.

James Milner

Milner is the definition of a model pro and would be a real asset for many top clubs.

The former Man City man works tirelessly in midfield and can play a bit too becoming one of the top assisters in the league, since the turn of 2016.

Milner is also a leader on the pitch and was one of the best players under Klopp helping employ the German’s pressing style quickly last season.

Dejan Lovren

The Croatian was much-maligned at the club in his first season and his confidence looked shot to bits.

However, since Klopp arrived the centre half has become a far stronger player for the club, and now looks like the team’s best defender.

Lovren was bought in by Brendan Rodgers to help the team play out of the back as well as for his defensive capabilities and he’s beginning to show this now.

Nathaniel Clyne

Clyne had a strong season in the Premier League at right back, and looks set to be the Reds man in that position for sometime to come.

Clyne is a very good defender and rarely gets caught out helping shore up Liverpool’s some times shaky defence, whilst going forward he is also a threat boasting good crossing ability.

The former Southampton man seems to have gone up a gear since arriving at Anfield and Reds fans will hope this continues.
