It’s been a tough old season for Leeds United in the Championship and their push for the play-offs has derailed in recent weeks!
The Whites fans here in the Tavern have been left seriously disappointed by what they’ve seen in recent weeks and after too many defeats recently, they’ve dropped out of the play-off places and they’re now relying on other results to go their way if they’re to make it.
But whatever division they find themselves in next season, the Whites are going to need to improve their ranks over the summer to really pick things up when the new season rolls around in August.
And after some discussion with supporters here in the Tavern, there’s one man we think would do a cracking job down at Elland Road and that’s £850,000-rated Arsenal forward Yaya Sanogo, who hasn’t made a first-team appearance for the Gunners all season.
Having started extremely promisingly, the French forward has gone off the boil in recent months and he needs a new start if his career to get kickstarted again. And the Whites need some striking reinforcements added to their ranks this summer, especially considering the pressure that has been on the shoulders of Chris Wood this campaign.
Sanogo needs to get back playing regularly and in a side where he’s going to get regular football. Leeds need a player that is going to seriously challenge Wood for the main striking role next season, especially considering the minimal impact Souleymane Doukara has had at times this campaign.
