2015/16 was an incredible year for Tottenham Hotspur, as they returned to Champions League football, challenged for the Premier League title and came within a hair-length of finishing above north London rivals Arsenal for the first time in over two decades.
With one of the youngest and brightest squads in the Premier League, many are predicting Mauricio Pochettino’s side to challenge again next season but there is still a final few pieces missing from the Argentine’s puzzle at White Hart Lane.
For two seasons now the attacking burden has been carried by striker Harry Kane and he definitely needs support, especially as a long-term injury to the England hit-man could derail Tottenham’s campaign completely.

CAM: Saul Niguez
The new golden boy in Spanish football, a host of clubs are interested in the Atletico Madrid teenager and the Spanish side are keen for him to remain at the Vicente Calderon. However, it was reported earlier this month that Spurs have offered him a bumper contract.
With a monumental release clause of £45m, the teenage Champions League finalist, who scored a tremendous solo goal in the semi-final victory over Bayern Munich, Saul has already established himself amongst the best in Europe.
Coming into Spurs’ attack to play behind the strikers, Saul’s addition would see Eric Dier move into a set defensive-midfield role, whilst the likes of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli could complement Saul in attack with an interchanging midfield trio.
ST: Harry Kane
The man carrying the hopes of a rejuvenated Tottenham Hotspur on his shoulders, Harry Kane became the first Englishman to win the Premier League golden boot since Kevin Phillips in the 1999/200 season after his haul of 25 goals this campaign.
Although the lowest scoring tally of a golden boot winner in five years, it shows Kane has the capacity to be a leading striker for club and country- whilst that figure could increase dramatically in the coming seasons with the right sort of support around him.
With 49 goals in 83 Premier League appearances for Tottenham, the 22-year-old will lead Spurs’ line for years to come.
ST: Michy Batshuayi
Having excelled for Marseille in Ligue 1 this season and put himself on the shopping list of a host top sides ahead of the summer window, it was recently confirmed that Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi would leave his French employers during the upcoming window.
The 22-year-old scored 21 goals for an underwhelming Marseille side this season, who finished in the bottom-half of the French league standings, and Spurs will have to pay around £31m to bring the forward to the Premier League and beat some of their rivals to his signature.
With Spurs being able to offer Champions League football, they could find themselves in the driving seat to complete a deal and he’d be the perfect partner to Harry Kane.
