‘The next Ronaldo’ – Liverpool fans on Twitter absolutely dreaming about ideal transfer swoop

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been raving over the performance of young Marcus Rashford for England. The Manchester United academy graduate scored a sublime opener against Costa Rica at Elland Road yesterday and our local Kopites have been dreaming about how good the young sensation would be under Jurgen Klopp.

Marcus Rashford burst onto the scene at the end of the 2015/16 when he was called up to the starting eleven at the last minute when an injury to Anthony Martial in the warm-up meant he was unable to play, leading to Louis Van Gaal calling Rashford into the eleven to face FC Midtjylland, where he scored a brace and impressed United fand all across the globe, since then he hasn’t looked back.

Unfortunately for Liverpool fans, the 20-year-old is a Manc. Rashford has been a Man United fan his whole life and is currently living the dream of playing for his boyhood club and he recently showed Liverpool what he’s capable of, scoring twice as the Red Devils overcame Klopp’s men 2-1 at Old Trafford in the Premier League. If Rashford was wearing the Red of Liverpool, it’s fair to say things would have been different.

Whilst no Liverpool fan would complain if they had Marcus Rashford in the side, it’s hard to imagine that he’d get consistent first-team football considering how strong the Reds current front three is, with Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all getting bags of goals.
