Despite seeing their side manage yet another Merseyside derby win at Anfield, the Liverpool fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are in damp spirits.
With the race for the Champions League very much on, the Reds can ill-afford more injury problems, though the notion of losing Sadio Mane for another extended period has soured the mood amongst our Merseyside drinkers.
Having missed the Senegalese attacker so much during his absence for the African Cup of Nations over the New Year period, Jurgen Klopp’s side seemingly struggle to replace the former Southampton man.
Still, the fact England international Daniel Sturridge is closing in on a return to first-team action after two months out has provided fans online with a fresh sense of optimism. Undoubtedly a wonderful player, the 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from Anfield as a result of his injury problems, though could have a big say in Liverpool’s run in.
It seems social media users believe this could be a defining period for Sturridge, with Mane out, so here’s a look at how Twitter reacted to Sturridge’s fitness.
We won't get 90 out of Sturridge but he has to ensure that when he gets on the pitch he makes an impact!

The last time #LFC looked to Origi and Sturridge to fill in for Mané, they flopped. Here's their second chance now, they better take it.

If it is to be Studge's last season, really hope he puts his all into these last 8 games whenever he's given the opportunity #LFC

Prediction: Studge starts in #LFC's 8 last fixtures & scores 6 game-winners. Though wounded & awkward, the Reds finish 2nd. #crazythoughts
