Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are always hoping a young gun will come through the ranks and go on to be a success.

The Gunners have struggled for great youth academy players, often opting to buy them young from other clubs and nurture them to the Arsene Wenger style of play. With Arsenal, as they are currently and over the past few years, many in the bar often wondered whether Wenger would draft in a load of youngsters to really freshen things up at the Emirates Stadium to give the new look they’ve needed so much.

Especially with the club’s unwillingness sometimes to not let the purse strings go, relying on youth really could have given the Gunners a fresh impetus. However, with the recent arrivals in the January window, and what seems to be a re-emergence of a few players, some of the burgeoning talents currently in north London should look to leave to further their careers.

With that in mind, here’s a closer look at TWO of them.

Vlad Dragomir

The Romanian attacking midfielder has not played a single first team minute in his two years at the club, much to his probable frustration. Indeed, the closest he has come is sitting on the bench in one of Arsenal’s group matches in the Europa League.

He’s still only 18, though, with Wenger’s attacking midfield options as they are now, many in the back room playing pool see it a very hard task to break into that spot. Maybe a move away early on in his career will do him the world of good before he plateaus out at the Gunners.

Krystian Bielik

The Polish centre-back is another one that has spent the majority of his Arsenal career at other clubs. The defender has played for the under 16,17,18,19 & 21 in his national team and is highly regarded by some of the regulars as a quality player.

His ability to also move to a defensive midfield role is a talent Wenger needs in his team to balance the shape of it up going forward. Indeed, Bielik must move on if he wants to play regular football in his preferred position
