Eden Hazard’s future at Chelsea is looking grim. He hasn’t signed a new deal at the club, and according to the Sun, Real Madrid are on the prowl. They’re reporting that Chelsea are worried that Madrid could look to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with the Blues’ Belgian star, and that’s a situation that will undoubtedly concern the club.
For most fans, Hazard is an irreplaceable part of the first team, and so to lose him would be nothing short of a disaster.
However, in the same breath, most fans would love to see a few young players come into the first team at Chelsea. After all, the Chelsea academy is up there with the best in Europe in terms of it being home to dozens of top-tier talents.
Perhaps, then, Chelsea could find their perfect replacement for Hazard in their youth system, and that may mean a departure hurts a lot less.
With that said, these 2 Chelsea teenagers would take Eden Hazard’s place perfectly…
Jeremie Boga hasn’t had an easy year or two, but in terms of natural comparisons, nobody in the Blues’ academy is more similar to Hazard.
Like the Belgian, he’s a brilliant dribbler and he has electric pace, and that makes him an incredible threat when moving forward and driving towards goal.
He’s also built well, and so whilst he is short, he is very strong and robust, and that makes him very difficult to dispossess.
It would be a big step up, but he draws a lot of comparisons with Hazard.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is one of the best players in the Chelsea academy.
The Englishman, despite being just 17-years-old, is already a first-team squad member, and he’s proven that he deserves more of a chance at the club.
He’s got the sort of flair and exciting play style that has made Hazard so popular at Stamford Bridge, and he’d no doubt make fans very happy if he were to become a regular.
Chelsea could do far worse than give him a chance.
