Middlesbrough fans here in the Tavern are hoping to build on their recent run of fine form with a win against Brentford at the weekend, as they look to cement a place in the play-offs. 

Tony Pulis has done a fantastic job at the Riverside since being appointed as the club’s manager back in December, as Boro now look on course for a play-off spot to challenge for promotion back to the Premier League. Indeed, many of our local residents are loving life under the 60-year-old, as he’s now managed to get their season back on track.

Of course, having seen the progression made in the three months Pulis has spent with the club, the summer transfer window could hold the key to success for next season. And, with Crystal Palace facing an uncertain future in the Premier League, the Boro boss might look to his former club for some inspiration in the summer months.

Therefore, these TWO Crystal Palace players would be great signings for Middlesbrough in the summer…

Pape Souare

Pape Souare has completely lost his way at Selhurst Park in the current campaign as he’s still waiting for his first Premier League appearance, but has impressed when given the opportunity in cup competitions thus far.

However, it’s clear to see that the full-back doesn’t have a future at the club as Roy Hodgson continues to leave him out, which could see Boro snap up a player that offers bags of pace and quality as a consistent performer.

Therefore, Middlesbrough should look to provide competition for George Friend in the summer transfer window, with a move for Souare that could see both players raise their game to earn a starting place in the side.

Connor Wickham

Connor Wickham is yet to feature for Palace so far this season as he continues to make his way back from a long-term injury, but did manage to bag himself three goals in 10 appearances prior to suffering the blow last campaign.

Indeed, the 24-year-old still has bags of potential to unlock after missing out on a season in his footballing career, with a point to prove when he finally returns to action.

Therefore, having already acquired Alexander Sørloth in the January transfer window, Palace may not be able to provide the striker with regular minutes which could see Boro bag themselves a promising talent.
