It’s fair to say that our resident Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern have not enjoyed this season and are looking to their boss, Sam Allardyce, to turn things around at the south London club.

The Eagles find themselves well and truly in a relegation battle and their fortunes have not really changed since Big Sam took over from Alan Pardew in the Christmas period.

Our landlord believes that Palace really need to pull their socks up if they are to be playing Premier League football next season but he has been trying to find the bright side of the situation should they be relegated to the Championship.

He sees it as chance to bring in some youngsters from the academy to the first team. However, the Palace punters in the Tavern are not having any of it, and cannot see any good coming from being relegated.

This argument has caused fierce debate in the Transfer Tavern and to reiterate his point, our landlord has outlined two young Eagles starlets who could be worth serious money in the years to come.

Kian Flanagan

Brought across to Palace from Southend United at U14 level, Flanagan has been a regular fixture in the Palace U18 midfield this season after making 24 appearances for the same age group last term.

The Eagles can now look forward to having Flanagan at the club for the foreseeable future after seeing him linked with some of the big boys a couple of years ago.

He has also represented Ireland at U17 level really and looks a talent, with The Guardian rating him as one of the Premier League’s more exciting young talents in the video above.

Noor Husin

A feature on Palace’s bench a couple times this season, Husin was actually released by Reading and picked up by Alan Pardew in the summer.

The Afghan-born youngster can play in midfield and likes to get on the ball and direct the tempo of play for his side. There is no doubting Husin’s potential and he will be looking to prove a point to his former employers by making himself a Premier League star.
