Reds fans here in the Tavern are looking to get rid of some of the dead-weight within their squad, with players of yesteryear now stagnating on the sidelines. 

Jurgen Klopp has prided himself on giving each player a fair shot at proving their worth in the side since taking over at the club, with him now adopting a new type of rotation system that sees players earn extra minutes.

Of course, after changing a winning-side on numerous occasions it’s led to a mixed response from the Reds fans, with the majority of them confused as to why the German would want to change a winning recipe.

So, with the club looking to offload some of the players that just haven’t been cutting it so far this season. According to reports, Daniel Sturridge is just one of the names floating around, after Southampton are known to be keen on bringing the forward to St Mary’s.

Having made most of his appearances from the bench this season, it’s been near impossible for him to break into a side that holds arguably the best attack in the Premier League outside of Manchester City.

Nevertheless, having seen a number of first-team players spend the most of their time on the bench or out of the side this season. Here’s a look at TWO flops who may finds themselves on their way out of Anfield.

Lazar Markovic

The Serbian international was brought to Anfield from Benfica for £20 million as one of the most promising young talents out of Portugal. But it only took his first couple of games in the red shirt for the club to notice that they’d made a huge mistake.

Indeed, the 23-year-old has been wasteful with his opportunities in the first-team after struggling to replicate any of the magic he displayed in Portugal, which has seen him yet to make a competitive appearance for Liverpool since August 2016.

Nevertheless, with Jurgen Klopp less than impressed with the youngster, he’ll be certain to offload him in January. While, according to reports Turkish side Besiktas were keen to put a loan-bid in for the Serbian, so may look to reignite their interest in January.

Danny Ings

The former Burnley striker had Liverpool fans excited when he joined the club back in 2014, but the Reds faithful are yet to really witness the 25-year-old in action after only seeing him in one EFL Cup appearance this season.

In terms of regarding him as a flop in respective of his performances there’s no judgement to be made, but due to the constant injuries halting the players progress it’s been a waste of a buy so far for the Reds.

Therefore, with him now back fully-fit, and the January transfer window upon us. According to reports a whole host of clubs such as West Brom, West Ham, Newcastle and Stoke are all interested in taking the forward on-loan.
