It’s been a tough few weeks for the Reds, and in truth, the international break has come at a good time.

It will allow some of Liverpool’s disappointing players a bit of time away from the club, and perhaps, as a result, their form may return. After all, a number of Liverpool players have really struggled in the Premier League this term, and so a break from the competition certainly won’t do them any harm.

Given that, the international break holds more significance than most for a few of Liverpool’s key men. A good performance or two for their country could make or break their short-term Liverpool future, and that’s important for the team.

Klopp is clearly going to make changes over the coming weeks, and if a few players perform well, he won’t be able to ignore them.

With that said, these 2 Liverpool players have a point to prove during the international break…

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t really had much of a chance at Liverpool yet, and when he has played, he’s hardly set the world alight.

His transfer was under the spotlight, and so he’s had a lot of pressure on his shoulders, but Liverpool spent big on him, and it’s time for him to start repaying that fee.

He has struggled over the last few weeks, and the fans in the Transfer Tavern are already beginning to turn on him. That could all change with a good performance for his country, though, and that bodes well for him.

The Englishman typically performs quite well for his country, and Jurgen Klopp will undoubtedly have a keen eye on the game.

Ben Woodburn

Ben Woodburn has been sensational for his country, but has thus far had markedly less of a chance for his club.

It’s understandable of course, given his lack of experience, but another good performance for his native Wales could leave Klopp no choice.

He’s clearly a top player, and based on his international form, he should be getting more of a role at Anfield. He needs to prove to his German manager that he can do a job for both club and country, and the best way of doing that is maintaining consistency.
